JUSTICE ANU SIVARAMAN) This writ petition (Habeas Corpus) is filed seeking the following prayers; "a) Issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing Respondent No.3 and other concerned police authorities to forthwith produce the detenue namely Mr. Santhosh N., S/o. Nagaraju, before this Court; b) Declare the detention of the detenue from 07.06.2026 as illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional; c) Pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity." 2. The contention raised by the petitioner was that the alleged detenue who is the son of the petitioner was illegally apprehended and was in illegal custody of Chamarajanagar Town Police Station, Chamarajanagar District. 3. A status report by way of an affidavit is placed on record by the Police Inspector of Chamarajanagar Town Police Station, wherein it is stated that Sri Santosh N., aged 39 years, S/o. Nagraj, who is the alleged detenue in the instant case had - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:29172-DB WPHC No. 61 of 2026 been arrested on 10.062026 at 10:45 am in Crime No.144/2006 for the offences punishable under Section 331(3), 331(4) and 305 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, by the State. It is stated that he was produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate on the same day and has been remanded to judicial custody. The affidavit is recorded.
