[2026:JHHC: 22170] IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No.5875 of 2026 ------ Ranjeet Oraon, aged about 24 years, Son of Bodha Oraon, Resident of Village- Tuko Amba Toli, P.O.- Tuko, P.S.- Bero, District- Ranchi .... .... …. Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand .... .... .... Opposite Party ------ CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR CHOUDHARY ------ For the Petitioner : Mr. Sanjay Kr. Tiwari, Advocate For the State : Mr. Ajay Kr. Pathak, Addl.P.P ------ Order No.03 Dated-27-07-2026 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No.451 of 2023 corresponding to Bero P.S. Case No.18 of 2023 registered under Section 302, 201, 120B of the Indian Penal Code. This is the third journey of the petitioner with the self-same prayer for regular bail as earlier the prayer for bail of the petitioner was rejected on merit twice out of which the last one by a co- ordinate Bench of this Court was vide order dated 07.03.2025 passed in B.A. No.1829 of 2025. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the fresh ground is that so far as eight witnesses have been examined by the prosecution but there is no eye-witness to the occurrence. It is submitted that the allegation against the petitioner is false. It is lastly submitted that the petitioner has been in custody since 12.02.2023. Hence it is submitted that the petitioner be released on bail. Learned Addl. P.P. appearing for the State vehemently opposes the prayer for bail and submits that keeping in view the circumstantial evidence including the petitioner making his confessional statement and leading to discovery of the wearing apparel as well as the weapon of offence being the knife goes to show that it is only the petitioner who has committed the murder of the deceased namely Manish Oraon, hence, there is every chance of the petitioner absconding and tampering with the evidence if released on bail. It is, therefore, submitted that the petitioner ought not be released on bail at this stage. Considering the serious nature of allegation against the petitioner and the evidence that has already come against him during the trial of the case as well as his chance of absconding and tampering with the evidence, this Court is of the considered view that this is not a fit case where the above-named petitioner be released on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the above-named petitioner is rejected at this stage. (Anil Kumar Choudhary, J.) Dated-27.07.2026-Animesh/
