CRL.M.C. 7728/2026 p. 2 12th May, 2026 has been filed as Annexure P-2 to the petition. 6. In terms of the settlement a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- was payable by the petitioners to the respondent no.2. Out of the said amount, a sum of Rs.70,000/- has been paid by the petitioners to respondent no.2 and the balance amount of Rs.30,000/- is paid today by way of cash. 7. The respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer (‘IO’). He informs the Court that he has settled the matter of his own free will and without any coercion. He further states that he does not wish to pursue the present FIR any further and has no objection if the present petition is allowed. 8. The petitioners are present in Court and have been identified by their counsel and the IO. The petitioners affirm the statement of the respondent no.2 and undertake to abide by the terms of settlement arrived at between the parties. 9.
Considering the above settlement between the parties, and considering the matter is still at the stage of investigation, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR and it would an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the aforementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. 10. Accordingly, the present proceedings under FIR No.497/2023 registered at Police Station Maidan Garhi and all consequential proceedings thereto are hereby quashed. 11. The petition along with pending application stands disposed of. AMIT BANSAL, J OCTOBER 13, 2026 Rzu This is a digitally signed order.
