1. By way of the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents for release of the amount lying in the Coal Mines Provident Fund (CMPF) account of her deceased mother, late Janki Bai.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although a succession certificate was produced before the concerned authority of SECL, the said claim was returned vide communication dated 24.02.2026 (Annexure P-1) on the ground that the CMPF account number was not mentioned in the succession certificate or in the application, and further that the Office of the Regional Commissioner, Coal Mines Provident Fund Organization, had not been impleaded as a party.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 2 submits that upon furnishing the CMPF account number of the deceased employee by either SECL or the petitioner, the amount found payable to the petitioner shall be released in accordance with law.

Learned counsel for respondent No. 1/SECL submits that the details of the CMPF account number of the deceased employee, along with the claim papers, shall be forwarded to respondent No.
3 / 3 2 within a period of ten (10) days.
5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.

In view of the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 1/SECL to furnish the CMPF account number of the deceased employee along with the claim documents to respondent No. 2 within a period of ten (10) days from today.
7. Upon receipt of the aforesaid details and claim documents, respondent No. 2 shall process the claim and release the amount found payable to the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of three (3) weeks thereafter.
8. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. Sd/- (BIBHU DATTA GURU)
