Accused no.1 in Crime No.22/2026 registered by Rajagopal Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 316(2), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 319(2)of BNS, 2023, is before this Court in this petition under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, seeking anticipatory bail. 2. Heard the learned Counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.22/2026 was registered by Rajagopal Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the aforesaid offences against the petitioner and others based on the first information dated 22.01.2026 received from Shilpa who is the alleged victim in the present case. Apprehending arrest in the said case, petitioner had filed Crl. Misc. No.2847/2026 before the jurisdictional Sessions Court, which was rejected on 02.04.2026. Therefore, petitioner is before this Court. 4. In the first information which is submitted on 22.01.2026, the victim has stated that she is working in a private hospital and accused nos.1 & 2 were also working in the very same - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:29385 CRL.P No. 6581 of 2026 hospital. The victim also has stated that accused nos.1 & 2 had represented to her that they would provide her a job in a Government hospital if she was ready to spend about Rs.15 to 30 lakhs. It is in this background, from the month of June 2023 till the month of June 2026, the victim lady allegedly paid a sum of Rs.8,50,995/- to the accused persons through Phonepe. She has further stated that she also has got transferred amount to the accused persons from the account of her relatives and altogether she has paid a sum of Rs.30,09,965/- to the accused person who had represented her that they would provide her a Government job. 5. It is not in dispute that petitioner has no other criminal antecedents. In the first information, it is stated that he was working as receptionist in the private hospital in which the victim lady was working as a nurse. Amount has been paid to accused persons over a period of more than two years, in installments. The alleged offences are triable by the Court of Magistrate and the maximum punishment for the said offences is imprisonment for a period of seven years. Petitioner who has no other criminal antecedents, has undertaken to co-operate - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:29385 CRL.P No. 6581 of 2026 with the police for the purpose of investigation. Under the circumstances, I am of the opinion that petitioner's prayer for grant of anticipatory bail is required to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order: 6. The petition is allowed. The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioner in the event of his arrest in Crime No.22/2026 registered by Rajagopal Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 316(2), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 319(2)of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions: 1. The Petitioner shall appear before the Investigating Officer within 15 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the investigating officer. 2. Petitioner shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons. 3. Petitioner shall not tamper with the prosecution witness and he shall co-operate with the - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:29385 CRL.P No. 6581 of 2026 police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon. 4.
