2. This application has been filed under section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraskha Sanhita, 2023, whereby the accused petitioner namely, Vedic Modi, has prayed for bail in connection with Dispur P.S. Case No. 114/2026 under Section 126(2)/109/118(1)/309(4)/3(5) of BNS, 2023.
3. The petitioner is stated to have been detained in custody since
27.02.2026.
4. The allegation in the FIR dated 27.02.2026 lodged by the informant with the allegation that on the previous night around 11 p.m. he went to Ganeshguri, Guwahati for dinner with his friends and while taking dinner, some unknown persons hit him on the head by a pistol like article and snatched a golden chain and profuse bleeding from his head.
5. The learned Senior counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petitioner was arrested during the investigation. In the forwarding report, the grounds of arrest have been mentioned.
6. The case diary has been received.
7. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that no firearm as such was recovered and the alleged weapon of assault was some kind of a cigarette lighter shaped like a pistol. The medical report is available which indicates injuries in the nature of laceration.
8. I have seen the progress in the investigation. Considering the progress of investigation and other aspects indicated above, I am of the considered that investigation may not be hampered, if the petitioner is granted bail with conditions.

9. Accordingly, the accused-petitioner, named above, shall be released on bail in connection with Dispur P.S. Case No. 114/2026 under Section 126(2)/109/118(1)/309(4)/3(5) of BNS, 2023, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.30,000/- with one suitable surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of learned concerned court[CJM, Karmrup(M)].
10. The direction for bail is further subject to the following conditions: (a) That the petitioner shall co-operate with the remaining investigation; and (b) That the petitioner shall not hamper or tamper with evidence.
11. Violation or breach of any condition(s) shall entail cancellation of bail.
12. With the above observations, this bail petition stands allowed and
disposed of accordingly.
13. Send back the case dairy.
