Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition has been filed seeking a direction towards the respondent authorities to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Joint Director as the petitioner has completed the requisite qualifying service and the post of Joint Director has also been sanctioned in the set up vide order dated 25.09.2002. He further submits that the petitioner is the eligible candidate available for promotion to the said post and is due to retire on 30.06.2026. It is further submitted that despite repeated requests made by the petitioner for convening the DPC and considering his case for promotion, no action has been taken by the respondents. Learned counsel specifically refers to representation dated 22.09.2025 (Annexure P-8) submitted before the respondent, which is still pending consideration and prays for deciding the same. 2. Learned State counsel, looking to the limited prayer made in the petition, submits that the writ petition may be disposed of with a direction to the State authorities to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P-8) within a period of 30 days. 3. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents 3 annexed with the petition. 4. In view of submission made by learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner dated 22.09.2025 (Annexure P-8) in accordance with law and on its own merits, within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter and the respondent No.3 is directed to strictly consider and decide the representation of the petitioner as per the extant rules and on its own merits.
