ORAL ORDER:
Heard Sri M.R.K. Chakravarthy, learned Counsel for the Writ Petitioners, Sri Abdul Matheen, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of Sri V.V. Sathish, learned Standing Counsel for APCPDCL, Smt. Sireesha Rani Vallabhaneni, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.3 and Sri Abhishek Mallik, learned Counsel representing Smt. S. Pranathi, learned Standing Counsel for APCRDA. 2.
Smt. Sireesha Rani Vallabhaneni, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.3, has submitted the Written Instructions furnished by the Commissioner, Tadigadapa Municipality dated 05.05.2026, which indicates that the Municipality has not granted any permission for establishment of any electrical substation in the subject land and no construction activity is being carried on in the site. 3. Sri Abdul Matheen, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of Sri V.V. Sathish, learned Standing Counsel for APCPDCL, has also submitted the Written Instructions furnished by the Assistant Executive Engineer, Operation, APCPDCL dated 06.05.2026. Copies of both the Written Instructions are supplied to the learned Counsel for the Writ Petitioners and the same are taken on record. 4. In para 3 of the Written Instructions furnished by the Assistant Executive Engineer, APCPDCL, it is stated that currently in Teachers Colony and its surrounding areas, there are approximately 250 apartment transformers along with about 50 transformers serving individual household needs. It is also stated that in addition to these needs, it is estimated that around 200 more transformers will be required in the near future due to ongoing and upcoming construction activities in the area. In para 4, it is stated that in order to ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply in the present as well as in the future, there is a strong and urgent need to construct a new power substation in Teachers Colony area and if the said substation is not built at this location
4
now, it will not be possible to supply power to this area from the Mahadeva Puram Colony substation in the coming summer season. 5.
In view of the fact that APCDPDCL has already expressed need for erecting a substation, whereas no such proposal has been received by the Municipality, Tadigadapa, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of this Writ Petition directing the Respondents to follow due process of law in the event that substation is sought to be erected in the future. 6. With these observations and directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs. 7. Interlocutory Applications, if any, stand closed in terms of this order. ______________________________________ GANNAMANENI RAMAKRISHNA PRASAD, J Dt:07.05.2026 Vns
