Learned senior advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than one year and there has been no progress in the case. Some of the accused persons have been granted bail and the petitioner presumably is on the same footing as those persons who have been granted bail. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the injured witnesses. Learned advocate for the State has also relied upon the earlier orders passed by this Court in CRM(M)1159 of 2025 and CRM(M)1576 of 2025 and submitted that two injured statements reflect that the petitioner is placed similarly as those accused persons whose bail has been refused. It has also been brought to the notice of this Court that nine accused persons are absconding. Learned trial court would take steps for exhausting the 2 process of law, split up the trial of the case and take steps for commitment of the case at the earliest. Having considered the complicity of the petitioner, at this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, CRM(M)2476 of 2025 is dismissed.
