Mr. Dilip Kumar Sadhu Ms. Soumita Shaw …for the Petitioner. Mr. Rakesh Singh …for the State. 1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record. 2. By the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks direction upon the respondent authorities to grant family pension in her favour. 3. The petitioner contends that her father, late Dulal Chand Bhowmik was an Assistant Teacher of Madhabpur Board Primary School, P.O. – Madhabpur, District – Purba Medinipur. The petitioner’s father retired from service on superannuation on 30th November, 1993. The Pension Payment Order was issued on 23rd October, 1997. The petitioner’s father died on 15th February, 2009. The mother of the petitioner, namely, Satadal Bhowmik was granted family pension. The mother of the petitioner died on 31st January, 2017. Subsequent thereto family pension was granted to unmarried elder sister, Anju Bhowmik. The petitioner’s elder sister died on 5th March, 2024. The petitioner being another unmarried daughter of the deceased employee submitted an application on 10th April, 2025 before respondent No.2, The Director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance and respondent No.4, District Inspector of Schools (P.E), Purba Medinipur for grant of family pension. However, the same has not been considered as yet. Hence this writ petition. 4. Mr. Dilip Kumar Sadhu, learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the matter be relegated to the appropriate authority for due consideration of the petitioner’s application for grant family pension. 5. Mr. Rakesh Singh, learned advocate for the State leaves the matter to the discretion of the Court. 6. In view of the aforesaid, the respondent No.4, the District Inspector of Schools (PE), Purba Medinipur is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 10th April, 2025, for grant of family pension in her favour upon notice to petitioner and dispose of the same in accordance with law by a reasoned order within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 7. The reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week of passing thereof. 8. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to communicate this order to respondent No.4, the 2 District Inspector of Schools (PE), Purba Medinipur for necessary action. 9. With the above direction, the writ petition being WPA 27258 of 2025 stands disposed of. 10. Since no affidavits have been called for, the allegation made in the writ petition is deemed to be not admitted. 11. Interim order, if any, stands vacated. 12. All connected applications, if any, stand disposed of. 13. There shall be no order as to costs. 14. All concerned parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 15.
