ORAL ORDER
1. Accused No.2 in Crime No.180 of 2025 registered by Ramapura Police Station, Chamarajanagara District for offence punishable under Section 20(a)(i), 20(b)(ii)(B) & 25 R/w Section 46 of NDPS Act, 1985 is before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023 seeking anticipatory bail.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.
3. FIR in Crime No.180 of 2025 registered by Ramapura Police Station, Chamarajanagara District was initially registered for the offence punishable under Section 20(a)(i) of NDPS Act against Nagaraju, who is the son of the petitioner. Apprehending arrest in the said case, petitioner had filed Crl.Misc.No.132 of 2026 before the jurisdictional Sessions Court, which was rejected on 10.04.2026. Therefore, she is before this Court.

4. Petitioner is a lady, aged about 70 years. Undisputedly, she has no other criminal antecedents. Allegations found in the first information is that in the land bearing Survey No.753/2 situated within the jurisdiction of Ramapura Police Station, the police have seized 20 ganja plants, totally weighing 10 kg 500 grams. Since the revenue records of the aforesaid property stood in the name of the petitioner, she apprehended arrest and therefore she had approached the jurisdictional Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail.
5. Accused no.1, who is the son of the petitioner was arrested in the present case and he has been granted regular bail by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court in Crl.P.No.1118/2026 disposed of on 14.05.2026. Under the circumstances, I am of the opinion that the prayer made by the petitioner for grant of anticipatory bail needs to answered affirmatively.
6. Accordingly, the following:
ORDER The Criminal Petition is allowed.

The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioner in the event of his arrest in Crime No.180 of 2025 registered by Ramapura Police Station, Chamarajanagara District for offence punishable under Section 20(a)(i), 20(b)(ii)(B) & 25 R/w Section 46 of NDPS Act, 1985 subject to the following conditions:
1. The petitioner shall appear before the jurisdiction Court in the present case within fifteen days from the date of this order on executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) with one surety for the likesum to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court.
2. The petitioner shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons.
3. The petitioner shall not tamper with the prosecution witness and she shall co-operate with the Police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon.

4. The petitioner shall not involve in similar offences in future.
