Pursuant to the direction contained in the order of 11.12.2025, Mr. Talukdar, learned Advocate appearing for the University files an instruction given to him by the University on 17.03.2026. The instruction also contains communications and most importantly a note-sheet of 16.03.2026. 2. In this note-sheet, it has been accepted that the application made by the petitioner, sometime in June 2020, was forwarded to the appropriate authority only on 11.02.2026. The delay is unpardonable. 3. As submitted by Mr. Talukdar, since the screening- cum-evaluation committee does not sit on a regular basis, they will take up the matter at their next meeting and consider the case of the petitioner relating to promotion upon taking into consideration the past service rendered by the petitioner in another University. 4. I direct the University to ensure that the afore-stated committee considers the petitioner’s case as expeditiously as possible, preferably by 30.04.2026. P a g e | 2 5. It is also made clear that if the promotion is granted to the petitioner, it will relate back from the date of his entitlement and all benefits will be given to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement. 6. The instruction to Mr. Talukdar including the documents appended thereto, are taken on record. 7. With the afore-stated directions, WPA 27626 of 2025 is disposed of. No order as to costs.
