The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Khunti P.S. Case No.181 of 2025, for the alleged offences registered under Sections 338, 336(3), 340(2) and 318(4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 pending in the Court of learned C.J.M., Khunti. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a bona fide purchaser of the second-hand vehicle from Bijul Ray on 08.04.2025 through the sale letter and before transferring the said vehicle on Odisha Registering Authority vehicle No. was BR-01GM-3006. He further submits that thereafter the petitioner applied for transfer of the said vehicle No. BR-01-GM- 3006 in his name before the registration authority Rourkela RTO, Government of Odisha and after obtaining no objection certificate from State Transport Department, Patna, Government of Bihar, the 2026:JHHC:21339 --2-- A.B.A. No. 3926 of 2026 vehicle was transferred in the name of the petitioner by RTO Rourkela and a new registration No. OD-14AJ-2447 was issued in place of registration No. BR-01-GM-3006. He then submits that the informant has alleged that he has taken the vehicle to his house and kept there for four days and filed FIR thereafter alleging that engine number of the vehicle has been changed. He next submits that the petitioner has nothing to do with the said allegation and false allegations are made and further the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in paragraph No.21 of the petition. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the State opposed the prayer and submits that allegations are there of changing the engine number of the said vehicle. 5. Annexure-2 and 2/1 are the letter which prima facie suggests that the vehicle in question was purchased by the petitioner and application was made before the Registering Authority, Odisha. Annexure-3 and 3/1 are the documents which suggests that after obtaining no objection certificate the number of the vehicle has been changed by the authority concerned at Rourkela in the State of Odisha and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent as disclosed in paragraph No.21 of the petition. In the attending facts and circumstances of this case, I am inclined to provide anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is hereby directed to surrender before the learned Court within three weeks from 2026:JHHC:21339 --3-- A.B.A. No. 3926 of 2026 today, and in the event of his surrender/arrest, the petitioner, above named, shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned C.J.M., Khunti in connection with Khunti P.S.
