Sahu, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. Abhishek Sahu, learned counsel appearing for the respondents No. 1 and 2, Mr. Boboy Potsangbam, learned CGSC appearing for the respondent No. 3 and Mr. S. Jasobanta, learned counsel appearing for the respondents No. 4 and 5. [2] The present writ petition has been filed with the prayer, inter alia, for directing the respondents for consideration and disposal of the representation dated 12-02-2024 filed by the petitioner and also to take steps for compliance with the judgment and order dated 18-07-2024 passed by this court in WP(C) No. 681 of 2020 and order dated 05-12-2025 passed in WA No. 8 of 2025. In the said representation, the petitioner requested the authorities to take up necessary steps to hold the Interview for the post of Director, EMMRC of the Manipur University. [3] It has been submitted by Mr. B.P. Sahu, learned senior counsel appearing for the Manipur University that in compliance with the direction issued by this court, a Selection Committee has been constituted and the Selection Committee Meeting was held on 19-01-2026 and recommendation has been made in respect of the said post of Director, EMMRC. The learned senior counsel submitted that as per the recommendation made by the Selection Committee, no candidate was found to be eligible and on the basis of the said recommendation, the result of the said Selection Committee Meeting has already been declared vide Office Order No. 955 dated 23-01-2026. [4] In view of the above, the learned senior counsel submitted that no cause survives for adjudication in this writ petition and the present writ petition can be closed as infructuous. [5] Mr. Leo Rommel, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner fairly submitted that as the Selection Committee Meeting has already been held pursuant to the direction given by this court, he has no objection in closing this writ petition as infructuous.
