Jiya Lal Bhardwaj, Judge (Oral) Learned senior counsel for the petitioners submits that during the pendency of the present petition, the respondents have granted the relief to the petitioners, though belatedly. He submits that since there has been a delay on the part of the respondents in making the payment, some interest may be ordered to be paid on the delayed payment. 2. The said contention cannot be accepted for the 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 reason that the respondents, without the claim having been adjudicated by this Court, had granted the bene.ts to the petitioners, though belatedly. Therefore, in view of the fact that the respondents have granted the actual bene.t to the petitioners without adjudicating the claim on merits, this Court is not inclined to accept the prayer made by the learned senior counsel for the petitioners to grant interest on the delayed payment. 3. Keeping in view the above facts, nothing remains to be adjudicated in the present petition and the same is closed. However, the petitioners may take up the matter with the respondents for claiming interest. Needless to say, the Court has not given any direction to pay interest on the payment already released in favour of the petitioners. 4. The petition is accordingly disposed of.
