This Civil Petition is filed by the petitioner/wife for transfer of MC.No.6799/2025, filed by the respondent/husband for divorce before the Principal Judge, Family Court, Bengaluru to the Family Court, Davanagere as she is working and residing in Davanagere. 3. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that even the respondent is working in Davanagere. But the case has been filed at Bengaluru, which is at a distance of about 270 kilometers by bus and 370 kilometers by train, and the travel time is about 10 hours. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:28222 CP No. 88 of 2026 4. Learned counsel for the respondent submitted that previously the respondent had sought for transfer of his job to Bengaluru on the medical grounds of his mother, but presently he is residing in Davanagere and is trying for transfer to Bengaluru. The said ground is not a reason to be considered by this Court while disposing of the present transfer application. 5. Admittedly, both the parties are residing in Davangere. Therefore, this Court finds that it is just and reasonable to transfer MC.No.6799/2025 filed by the husband for divorce from Principal Judge, Family Court, Bengaluru to the Family Court, Davanagere for the convenience of both parties.
