Pushpa Gogoi is present in person. Mr. Rahijuluddin Ali appears for the Shriram General Insurance Co. Ltd. along with Mr. R. Goswami, learned counsel for the appellant. The original awarded amount was Rs. 12,28,260/- and today the matter has been settled at a total compensation of Rs. 17,00,000/- to be paid by the insurer to the claimant. It has been submitted that a deposit of Rs. 6,14,130/- has already been made before the Registry of this Court and therefore an additional amount of Rs. 10,85,870/- would satisfy the settlement arrived at by the parties. Accordingly, the insurer shall deposit the amount of Rs. 10,85,870/- before the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from today, in which event, it shall not carry further interest. However, if the amount is not deposited within a period of 45 days from today, statutory interest shall apply. On the insurer depositing the settled amount, the same shall be released to the claimant on proper identification.
