Sonali Mane 910-WP-13297-2026.docx IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY CIVIL APPELLATE JURISDICTION WRIT PETITION NO. 13297 OF 2026 Babasaheb Yashwant Dangat And Ors … Petitioners Versus The Maharashtra State Co Op Election Authority And Ors … Respondents Mr. Prasad Dani, Senior Advocate a/w Mr. Chetan Nagare, Mr. Prasad Avhad for Petitioners. Mr. A. Y. Sakhare, Senior Advocate i/b Mr. Abhijit B. Kadam a/w Ms. Akansha Gond for Respondent No.4. Mr. Dilip Bodke a/w Ms. Shraddha Pawar for Respondent Nos. 1 and 2. Mr. Y. S. Khochare ‘B’ PNL a/w Ms. Savita Prabhune, AGP for Respondent-State. CORAM : SANDEEP V. MARNE, J. DATE : 13 OCTOBER 2026. P.C. : 1) The limited grievance of the Petitioners in this Petition is that the name of Petitioner No.1 is erroneously recorded in the provisional list of voters as Dangat Balasaheb Yashwant, when in fact his correct name is Babasaheb Yashwant Dangat. Similarly, Petitioner Nos. 2 and 3, who are son and wife of Petitioner No.1, are also aggrieved by reflection of their names as Sachin Balasaheb Dangat and Sharda Balasaheb ___Page No. 1 of 2 ___ 13 October, 2026 MANE SONALI DILIP Digitally signed by MANE SONALI DILIP Date: 2026.10.17 12:11:48 +0530 Sonali Mane 910-WP-13297-2026.docx Dangat in the list of voters when in fact their correct names are Sachin Babasaheb Dangat and Sharda Babasaheb Dangat. 2) Mr. Sakhare, the learned Senior Advocate appearing for Respondent No.4-Society, fairly admits that there appears to be a typographical error in reflecting the names of the Petitioners in the records of the society and the same error has apparently travelled in the list of voters as well. On instructions, he makes a statement that no objection shall be raised if Petitioners present themselves for voting in the upcoming elections. This quells the apprehension in the minds of the Petitioners. Since the final voters' list has already been published and the election process is an advanced stage, it is not necessary to interdict the same by directing correction of names in the voters list. Since Mr. Sakhare has assured the Court that Petitioners shall be permitted to vote in the elections, nothing survives to be adjudicated in the Petition. Recording the statement made on behalf of Respondent No.4-Society, the Writ Petition is disposed of. [SANDEEP V. MARNE, J.] ___Page No. 2 of 2 ___ 13 October, 2026
