Mr. S.S. Chaudhary, Standing Counsel, for the State. 2. Petitioner is serving as Driver in the O/o District Magistrate, Dehradun since 2017. By means of this writ petition, he has sought the following reliefs: “I. Issue writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondents to pay equal pay for equal work to the petitioner. II. Issue writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioner/grant regular appointment on the post the petitioner has been discharging duties.” 3. Learned State Counsel submits that petitioner’s case is not covered by the regularisation rules, as he has put in only nearly nine years of service, while as per regularisation rules, anyone who has completed ten years of service as on 4.12.2018 alone is eligible to be considered for regularisation. He, however, submits that if petitioner makes representation to the competent authority, the same shall be dealt with as per law. 4. Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by permitting the petitioner to make representation to District Magistrate concerned. If he makes such representation within two weeks from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within eight weeks thereafter.
