This Civil Petition is filed by the petitioner/wife for transfer of MC.No.315/2025, filed by the respondent/husband for divorce before the Principal Judge, Family Court, Ballari to the Principal Judge, Family Court, Tumkuru. 4. It is stated that the petitioner is residing in Tumkuru. Hence, she requested for transfer of the said case to the Principal Judge, Family Court, Tumkuru. The marriage between the petitioner and the respondent was solemnized on 18.04.2019 at Tumkuru and it was registered at the office of the Registrar of Marriages on 06.07.2019 at Ballari. They are blessed with a male child on 16.09.2021, and the child is - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:28221 CP No. 60 of 2026 residing with the mother. The petitioner is also staying with her aged parents. 5. The distance between Tumkuru and Ballari is 242 kilometres. It is stated that the respondent is working in Bengaluru. As the marriage was performed at Tumkuru and registered at Ballari, the respondent filed MC.No.315/2025 before Principal Judge, Family Court, Ballari. The distance from Bengaluru to Ballari is about 300 kms. It is inconvenient for both parties to appear before the Court at Ballari. 6. Considering the fact that the petitioner is staying with a minor child and that it is inconvenient for her to travel all the way, this Court finds that it is just and reasonable to transfer MC.No.315/2025 filed by the husband for divorce from the Principal Judge, Family Court, Ballari to the Principal Judge, Family Court, Tumkuru.
