The petitioner retired from service on attaining his normal age of superannuation on 31st January, 2020 from the Durgapur Projects Limited. He alleges that the benefit of ROPA has been provided to the petitioner from a later point of time. 3. Prayer has been made for grant of interest on account of delayed payment of the gratuity on revision of pay. 4. Learned advocate representing the Durgapur Projects Limited admits that ROPA came into effect on and from 30th October, 2020. 5. As the petitioner has been paid revised gratuity on revision of pay from a delayed point of time, accordingly, the petitioner would be entitled to receive interest on account of the same. 2 6. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent nos.2 and 4 to take steps to calculate and disburse interest on gratuity on the revised benefit of ROPA in favour of the petitioner @ 6% per annum from the date of its accrual till the date of actual payment. 7. The amount of interest as calculated shall be paid within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 8. The writ petition stands disposed of. 9. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
