This petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 has been filed for extension of time for depositing a sum ALOK SHARMA Digitally signed by ALOK SHARMA Date: 2026.04.01 17:55:41 +0530 2 of Rs. 2,000/- as cost as per order dated 27.02.2026 passed by this Court in CRMP No. 497/2026 with following prayer: "It it, therefore, prayed that this Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to allow this petition and extend the time to deposit the cost and also may kindly be pleased to directed the registry to return the original documents to the petitioner, in the larger interest of justice." 2. This Court, vide order dated 27.02.2026 in CRMP No. 497/2026 has been dismissed as withdrawn granting liberty to the petitioner to file a duly constituted petition with condition to deposit a sum of Rs. 2,000/- as cost. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, after the passing of the order, the appearing counsel attempted to contact the petitioner, however, the petitioner was out of station. It is further submitted that the appearing counsel, Shri Yash Yadav, unfortunately lost his father on 04.03.2026 during the Holi festival period. Owing to these unfortunate circumstances, the cost amount could not be deposited within the stipulated time. Now, he is ready to pay the fine amount, and the mistake committed by the petitioner is bona fide and not intentional. Hence, he prays for a last opportunity, and that the time period for depositing the fine amount may kindly be extended. 4. Learned counsel for the other side has no objection. 3 5. The prayer made by the petitioner appears to be reasonable. Hence, the petitioner is granted further two days time and no more time from today to deposit the fine amount as was ordered by this Court on 17.02.2026 in CRMP No. 497/2026. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP, stands disposed of. 7. Certified copy, if any, filed in the petition be return back to the petitioner after retaining its attested true copy.
