Sajid Yunus, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned A.C. to A.G. as well as Mr. Amritansh Vats, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.6. In this writ application the petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the respondent nos. 4 and 5 to take stern action against the respondent nos.6 and 7 who have illegally detained the vehicle of the petitioner bearing registration no.JH09BG 8045 loaded with goods. A further prayer has been made to get the said vehicle released from the custody of the respondent nos. 6 and 7 and to compensate the petitioner for the loss incurred on account of the illegal detention of the vehicle in question. Vide order dated 01.04.2026 the learned State counsel was directed to file an affidavit to clarify as to why the vehicle has not been seized despite being the subject matter of Kotwali P.S. Case No.196 of 2025. An affidavit has been filed from which it appears that the vehicle 2 has indeed been seized in connection with Kotwali P.S. Case No.196 of 2025. In view of the said affidavit the initial grievance of the petitioner has become infructuous. So far as the release of the vehicle is concerned, the petitioner may approach the concerned court for redressal of his grievance. This writ application is, accordingly, disposed of with the aforesaid liberty. Pending interlocutory application(s), if any, stands closed. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) Shamim/- Uploaded on: 13 /07/2026
