The petitioner has filed the present petition as a Public Interest Litigation inter alia praying as under: "a) Issue a writ of Certiorari or any other writ or order and set aside the decision of the 1st Respondent in conferring NADOJA award to the 2nd Respondent at the 34th Annual Convocation of the 1st Respondent Unviersity to be held on 24.02.2026 (Annexure C). b) In the event, the 1st Respondent has conferred NADOJA award to the 2nd Respondent at the 34th Annual Convocation of the 1st Respondent University to be held on 24.02.2026, direct the 1st Respondent to withdraw the award conferred on 2nd Respondent. c) Direct the 1st Respondent to check and verify the criminal antecedents or pendency of criminal cases before conferring NADOJA award. d) Pass such other order as this Hon'ble court deems fit in the interest of Justice and Equity." 2. It is apparent that the award has already been conferred on respondent No.2 and therefore, the relief to interdict granting the award at the convocation does not survive. 3. We are unable to accept that any interference by this Court is warranted by the decision made by the respondent No.1 University - which is an independent University for conferring of an award on - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:18793-DB WP No. 6414 of 2026 any person. Neither any fundamental nor statutory rights of the petitioner or any class of persons have been violated. 4.
