4. Notice is accepted by the APP appearing on behalf of the State and the counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent no.2. 5. The disputes between the petitioners and the respondent no.2 resulted in the filing of the present FIR by the respondent no.2 against the petitioners regarding the alleged cheating of an amount of Rs. 5,44,434/-. 6. Now, the parties have settled their disputes in terms of the Compromise/Settlement Deed dated 5th December, 2025 (Annexure P-2), which has been placed on record. In terms of the settlement, the petitioners have already submitted the cheated amount of Rs. 5,44,434/- in the shape of FDR before the concerned Court, which was released in favour of the respondent no.2/Shankar Kumar Singh. The petitioners have paid a sum of Rs.20,000/- to the respondent no.2 as compensation. 7. The respondent no. 2 is present in Court and has been identified by his counsel as well as by the Investigating Officer (‘I.O.’). He informs the Court that he has settled the matter of his own free will and without any coercion.
He further states that he has no objection to the quashing of the present FIR. 8. The petitioners are also present in Court and have been identified by their counsel. They affirm the statement of the respondent no. 2 and undertake to abide by the terms of settlement arrived at between the parties. 9. Considering the above settlement between the parties, no useful purpose would be served by continuing with the proceedings of the present FIR and it would be an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. 10. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the present FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. 11. Consequently, FIR No. 16/2024 registered at P.S. Cyber Police Station South East and the proceedings pursuant thereto are quashed, subject This is a digitally signed order.
