W.P.(CRL) 1224/2026 & connected matter wish to pursue the present FIRs any further and have no objection if the present petitions are allowed. 9. Considering the fact that it is a dispute between neighbours and the parties have now resolved their disputes, there is no use continuing with the proceedings under the present FIRs as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the aforementioned FIRs and the proceedings pursuant thereto. 10. Even though the matter has been settled, the FIRs were lodged in the year 2022 and the parties have settled the matter after 4 years. The parties, on account of their acts and omissions have wasted considerable time of the police and the courts in the present matter. In these circumstances, the parties in both the petitions would be liable to pay costs. 11. Accordingly, the present proceedings under FIR Nos. No.262/2022 and 261/2022 registered at Police Station Wazirabad and the proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed subject to the petitioners in each of the petitions cumulatively paying costs of Rs.25,000/- to the Advocate Welfare Fund, Shahdara Bar Association Welfare Fund within two (2) weeks from today. 12.
