The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking following reliefs: “10.1 That, the Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the concerned respondent authorities particular respondent no. 2 and 4 to decide pending application for correction of the name in the online map revenue record Name, within stipulated time, in the interest of justice. 10.2 Any other relief, which the Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case may also be granted in favour of the petitioner.” 2. Facts of the case, as projected, are that the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking direction to the concerned respondent authorities for correction of his name in the online map revenue record pertaining to land bearing Khasra No. 6/2 admeasuring 0.600 hectare situated at Nagar Ramanujganj, Tahsil Ramanujganj, District Balrampur-Ramanujganj (C.G.). It is 3 the case of the petitioner that he is a permanent resident of Nagar Ramanujganj and is owner and in possession of the aforesaid land. It has been stated that the petitioner’s grandfather had constructed a house and courtyard over a portion of the said land and the remaining land is being used for cultivation of paddy and vegetables since long. The revenue records and other related documents have been filed along with the petition. The petitioner further submits that though his name is recorded in the revenue records and missal bandobast, the same has not been reflected in the online map and computerized revenue record till date. Due to such discrepancy, the petitioner is facing difficulty in peaceful possession, cultivation and other activities relating to the land. It has also been pleaded that the petitioner had submitted an application before the concerned Tahsildar seeking correction of his name in the online map revenue record, however, despite lapse of considerable time, the said application has not yet been decided. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of the present writ petition. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already submitted an application before the competent revenue authority for correction of his name in the online map revenue record in respect of the land in question, however, no action has 4 been taken thereupon till date. It is further submitted that although the petitioner’s name finds place in the revenue records and missal bandobast, the online map and computerized revenue record have not been corrected, due to which the petitioner is facing continuous hardship and difficulty in enjoyment and cultivation of the land. Learned counsel contends that despite lapse of more than three months, the concerned Tahsildar has neither initiated nor concluded the proceedings on the petitioner’s application. He further submits that similarly situated persons have already been granted relief by this Court in W.P.(C) No. 826/2025 and W.P.(C) No. 1606/2025, wherein directions were issued to the authorities to decide such applications within a stipulated time. Therefore, learned counsel prays that the present petition may also be disposed of on similar terms by directing the concerned authority to consider and decide the petitioner’s pending application expeditiously. 4. Learned State counsel submits that if the application submitted by the petitioner is pending consideration before the competent authority, the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law. It is further submitted that the State has no objection if an appropriate direction is issued to the concerned authority for expeditious disposal of the pending application of the petitioner. 5 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record. 6. From perusal of the pleadings and documents annexed with the writ petition, it appears that the petitioner has submitted an application before the competent authority seeking correction of his name in the online map revenue record pertaining to land bearing Khasra No. 6/2 situated at Nagar Ramanujganj, Tahsil Ramanujganj, District Balrampur-Ramanujganj (C.G.). It further appears that despite lapse of considerable time, the said application has not yet been decided by the concerned authority. 7. In view of the aforesaid facts and considering the limited grievance raised by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the concerned authority is directed to consider and decide the petitioner’s pending application for correction of his name in the online map revenue record, strictly in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 8. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner’s claim and it shall be open for the 6 competent authority to pass appropriate order in accordance with law on its own merits. 9.
