1. Pursuant to the order dated 25 March 2026 it is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that they had visited the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary at Jalpaiguri and inspected the elephants. It is also submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the elephants are in good condition and are being well looked after. However, the elephants continue to remain chained temporarily.
2. The petitioner seeks visitation rights insofar as the two elephants are concerned. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the Appropriate Authority at the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary to

obtain such visitation rights. If any such permission is sought for, the same would be considered in accordance with law and the Appropriate Authorities are requested to co- operate.
3. In view of the above, nothing survives in this application CPAN 244 of 2026 stands disposed of. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach this Court if the circumstances or any subsequent events so warrant.
4. Insofar as CPAN 59 of 2022 is concerned list this matter for hearing on 15 June 2026.
