The petitioners are before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: “a) Issue a writ in the nature of certiorari and quash the compromised decree made in OS No.202/2023 dated 08.07.2023 passed by the Addl. Civil Judge and JMFC, Nagamangala under Annexure-V. b) Grant such other relief/s, pass such other order/s, issue such other direction/s as this Hon'ble Court deems necessary under the facts and circumstances, of the above case, in the interest of justice and equity.” 2. The challenge made is to the compromise entered into before the Lokadalat in OS No.202/2023 on the - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26641 WP No. 14408 of 2026 ground that the petitioners did not know anything about the compromise entered into in OS No.202/2023. 3. This Court is unable to accept the same. A perusal of the compromise petition indicates that the petitioners have signed the said compromise petition. On appearance before the Lok-Adalat they have admitted the compromise petition, as also the contents of the compromise petition to be true and correct. Thereafter, the compromise petition has been taken on record. Compromise decree is directed to be drawn up. 4. The further submission of learned counsel for the petitioners is that the petitioners cannot be said to be aware of the contents is also liable to be rejected since the said ground is premised on the fact that the petitioners do not know English whereas the compromise petition is in Kannada, which language they know and the petitioners have been represented - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26641 WP No. 14408 of 2026 by a counsel who has identified them before the Lok- Adalat. 5.
