Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, who is Accused No. 2, has been falsely implicated in the present case. He further submits that there is no element of truth in the allegations made in the report and that the petitioner is in no way connected with the alleged incident. The petitioner is the sole breadwinner of his family, and his continued incarceration would cause hardship to them. It is also submitted that the petitioner is willing to furnish sureties to the satisfaction of the Court. It was also submitted that the investigation is pending with regard to the arrest of Accused Nos. 4 to 10 and 14 to 18. She contended that, if the petitioner is released on bail, there is every likelihood of the petitioner committing similar or other offences, tampering with evidence, and influencing or threatening witnesses. Considering the submissions and on perusal of the material on record and in view of the seriousness of the allegations, the stage of the 4 investigation, and the quantity of contraband involved in this case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner/accused No.2 at this stage. 7. Accordingly, this Criminal petition is dismissed.
