This petition has been filed seeking directions for release of amount of Rs. 12,00,000/-, along with accrued interest, in addition to Rs. 5,50,000/- already directed to be released by the Tribunal vide order dated 17th August 2026. The said directions were passed pursuant to the consent award dated 02nd July 2026 in MACT No. 25/2026. 2. By order dated 17th August 2026, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal [‘MACT’] East, Karkardooma Court, directed release of only Rs. 5,50,000/- while the balance amount of Rs.12,00,000/- was directed to be kept in FDRs. 3. Mr. Rahul Prakash Pathak , counsel for petitioner, submits that the injured/claimant has six children and is presently residing in rented accommodation, as he owns only a one-room tenement, upon which he This is a digitally signed order. Photographs of the said tenement have been placed on record as Annexure P-5, while the Aadhaar cards of his family members have been placed on record as Annexure P-6. 4. He further relies upon the decision of the Supreme Court on 22nd April 2025 in Suo Moto Writ Petition (Civil) No. 7/2024, reported as 2025 INSC 530, wherein the Supreme Court, while laying down guidelines, has observed that, in cases where a consent award is passed, the Tribunals may direct the deposit of the compensation amount ordered to be released to the claimants directly into the bank accounts of the persons entitled to receive the compensation. 5. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, the amount of Rs. 12,00,000/-, along with accrued interest, lying in FDRs pursuant to the directions of the MACT dated 17th August 2026, is directed to be released in lump sum into the designated bank account of the injured/claimant, i.e. A/c No. 20780110255148 IFSC Code- UCBA0002078, UCO Bank, Karkardooma Court Complex Branch, Delhi. 6. Additionally, this Court has recently passed an order directing the MACTs to consider the necessity of funds of claimants in a more sensitive and considerate manner in MAC APP No. 1004/2026 titled Sanjeev Sachdeva v. Bhola Mahato & Ors, vide order dated 16th September 2026. 7. In this view of the matter, the petition is allowed and disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are rendered infructuous. 8.
