The present petition has been filed under Section 29A of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’) and seeks extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 2. The petitioner herein had, earlier, filed an application under Section 9 of the Act which was registered as O.M.P.(I)(COMM.) 156/2026. While disposing of the abovesaid application, this Court had directed appointment of Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes. 3. Thereafter, with the consent of the parties and vide order dated 04.12.2025 passed by learned Sole Arbitrator, the mandate got extended for a period of six months, which has already expired on 02.06.2026. 4. It is submitted that the claimant-Company is based in Mumbai and the delay in Mediation is neither deliberate nor intentional. The case is, This is a digitally signed order. Learned counsel for the respondent appears on advance notice and has no objection if the abovesaid application is allowed and the mandate is extended. 6. Keeping in mind the overall facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that sufficient cause has been shown, the present petition is allowed and while regularizing the interregnum period, the mandate of Arbitral Tribunal is, hereby, extended till 01.06.2027.
