JUSTICE RAJESH RAI K ORAL JUDGMENT The KSRTC is in appeal challenging the judgment and award dated 14.01.2020 passed in M.V.C.No.493/2020 by the Principal Senior Civil Judge and CJM and MACT at Chikkamagaluru. 2. The Tribunal has awarded compensation as follows: Sl. No. Particulars Amount in (Rs.) 1. Pain and sufferings 40,000 2. Loss of future income 1,84,000 3. Medical expenses 10,000 4. Loss of income during the laid up period 40,000 5. Food and nourishment 10,000 6. Conveyance charges 8,000 7. Attendant Charges 8,000 - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26345 MFA No. 3628 of 2020 8. Future medical expenses 25,000 Total 3,25,000 3. In my view, the sums awarded by the Tribunal are not unreasonable so as to warrant interference in this appeal. However, in view of the judgment in the case of Ms. Joyeeta Bose and others vs. Venkateshan V., and others in M.F.A.No.5896/2018, the rate of interest is reduced from 9% to 6% per annum on the amount of compensation from the date of petition till its realization excluding the sum of Rs.25,000/- awarded towards future medical expenses. 4.
