Heard learned counsel for the review petitioner at length. Learned counsel submits that interest ought to be paid from the date of the petitioner’s retirement, i.e., from 2010. However, we find that a departmental inquiry was pending and a criminal case had also been registered. During the pendency of the same, the amount could not have been released. We too, therefore, affirm the direction to pay interest with effect from 12.10.2021, and the same does not call for any change. 2.
