By way of this petition, the petitioner has prayed for following RAGHVENDRA JAT Digitally signed by RAGHVENDRA JAT 2 reliefs:- “10.1 The Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue appropriate writ or direction directing the respondent/department to renew the driving license no. CG0420060002099 in accordance with law within stipulated time as this Hon'ble Court or decide the application dated 21.11.2025 submitted by the petitioner for renewal of his driving license. 10.2. Any other relief which this Hon'ble Court may deems fit and proper looking to the facts and circumstances of the case may also be awarded to the petitioner including the cost and expenses of this petition. An affidavit in support of this petition is filed herewith.” 2. Brief facts of the case, is that, the petitioner is a resident of Raipur and was initially issued a driving licence for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Motor Cycle With Gear (MCWG) on 27.11.2006 bearing Licence No. CG0420060002099, which was valid up to 20.12.2025; it is submitted that prior to the expiry of the said driving licence, the petitioner had duly applied for renewal thereof on 21.11.2025 and had also deposited the requisite prescribed fees before the competent authority; however, despite submission of the renewal application well within time and compliance with all formalities, the renewed driving licence has not been issued to the petitioner till date; it is further submitted that thereafter the petitioner again approached the concerned authorities and made 3 repeated requests on 29.01.2026 and 18.02.2026 seeking issuance of the renewed driving licence, but no action has been taken by the respondent authorities and the matter still remains pending without any lawful justification; due to such inaction on the part of the authorities, the petitioner is suffering immense mental harassment and inconvenience, and there is every likelihood that the petitioner may be subjected to unnecessary legal complications or penal consequences while driving despite having duly applied for renewal within the prescribed period; being left with no other efficacious remedy, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not challenging any particular order but is seeking a direction from this Court to respondent No. 2, to decide the application (Annexure P-2) dated 21.11.2025 within a time frame fixed by this Court. 4. Learned counsel for respondents submits that in view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for petitioner seeking direction to respondent-authorities to consider the pending representation, he is having no objection to the limited prayer. His pending representation will be considered in accordance with law. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record. 6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case instead of keeping this petition pending, I find it appropriate to dispose of the 4 same at this stage directing the concerned respondent No. 2 to consider/decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P/2) dated 21.11.2025 in accordance with law/rules/regulations and in an objective manner as expeditiously as possible within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 7. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed anything on the merits of the case. 8. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
