WPSS/841/2026 Hon’ble Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J
1. Ms. Shruti Joshi, learned Legal Aid Counsel for the petitioner.
2. Mr. G.S. Negi, learned Additional C.S.C. for the State of Uttarakhand.
3. Mr. Rajendra Arya, Advocate holding brief of Mr. Neeraj Garg, learned counsel for the respondent-UPNL.
4. According to petitioner, he was engaged through outsourcing as Driver in District Industries Centre, Almora and he served in that capacity between 2022 till 25.10.2025, however, thereafter he was disengaged from service.
5. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has challenged the order dated 25.10.2025, whereby petitioner was disengaged from service. He has also sought a direction to the Authorities to reinstate him as Driver through UPNL.
6. Learned State Counsel, however, submits that since the vehicle has now been outsourced with Driver, by District Industries Centre, therefore, service of driver is not needed in District Industries Centre. He, however, submits that if petitioner makes representation, then his claim for engagement against some other post may be considered.
7. The writ petition is, accordingly,
disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make representation for his re-
2026:UHC:2347 engagement to the Competent Authority. If he makes representation within ten days from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within four weeks thereafter.
