Sudhindra Bhat, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Sri. B.N. Jagadeesha, learned Addl. SPP appearing for respondent No.1 and have perused the material on record. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26214 CRL.P No. 85 of 2024 2. The petitioner - accused No.1 stands at the doors of this Court calling in question the proceedings in C.C.No.8797/2020 on the score that despite passage of 5 years, there is no proceeding worth the name conducted by the concerned Court. In that light, he seeks quashment of the proceedings. 3. Quashment of the proceedings on the said ground that too after the charges have been framed in the year 2004 itself, would not be a remedy that the petitioner would get at the hands of this Court. 4. Learned counsel would now submit that, if a direction is issued for speedy disposal of the proceedings, as it is already 6 years old, it would suffice for the present. 5. In that light, the petition stands disposed with a direction to the concerned Court to conclude the proceedings within an outer limit of six (6) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not earlier. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26214 CRL.P No. 85 of 2024 6. It is needless to observe that the parties to the lis shall cooperate for the conclusion of the proceedings, as is directed, in accordance with law.
