The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner – defendant no.1, aged about 60 years, under Article 227 of the Constitution of India with the following prayers :- “(i) Issue an appropriate writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus to direct the learned Civil Judge (Senior Division) Dehradun to decide the Original Civil Suit No.335 of 2019, “Smt. Jasraj Kaur Virdi and Others vs. Shri Jaiveer Singh and Another”, pending in the court of learned IInd Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Dehradun expeditiously and within a stipulate time period of six months. 1 2026:UHC:2335 (ii) Issue any other writ, rule, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case. (iii) Cost of petition may be awarded in favour of petitioner.” 2. Heard Mr. Reituparna Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioner. 3. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned IInd Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division), Dehradun is directed to make an endeavour to decide the Original Suit No.335 of 2019, “Smt. Jasraj Kaur Virdi and Others vs. Shri Jaiveer Singh and Another”, as expeditiously as possible, as per law, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties. 4. The present Writ Petition [No.793 of 2026 (M/S)] is disposed of accordingly. 5.
