2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that already the rival party had filed a writ petition before this Court in WP.Crl.(MD)No. 1538 of 2026 in which the petitioner herein is the 4th respondent and this Court, by order dated 25.03.2026 had already given permission for the petitioner therein to conduct Chitra Pournami festival and had also directed the 4th respondent, who is the petitioner herein, to extend all cooperation facilitating the petitioner herein to conduct the same. W.P.Crl.(MD)No.2430 of 2026 before this Court on the guise that the respondent police may prevent them from participating in the function. He further insisted that this writ petition itself is misconceived and sought for dismissal of this writ petition.
3. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, I don't find any merit in this writ petition. However, since the petitioner apprehends that he may be prevented by the respondent police from participating in Chitra Pournami festival and all connected religious rituals pertaining to Arulmigu Kwajiamman, Arulmigu Govindan and Arulmigu Karuppasamy Temples situated at Kadamalaikundu, Andipatti Taluk, Theni District, this Court makes it clear that the petitioner shall not be prevented from participating in the function.
4. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. 27.04.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No sm Note: Issue order copy on 29.04.2026. 3/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
