GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING The Court made the following: 4 THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE NYAPATHY VIJAY W.P.No.12990 of 2026 O R DE R: The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasingfinancial assistance of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) (2nd installment), sanctioned to the Petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV2018116899) under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevena’ Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevena’ Overseas Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2018-2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D. No.OV2018116899. After due verification, Respondent-Authorities sanctioned Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing Master of Project Management Course at Central Queensland University, Australia in two (02) installments. Later, the Petitioner had completed his Master of Project Management Course and Respondent-Authorities had released Rs.5,00,000/- (1st installment). However, 2nd Installment 5 (Rs.5,00,000/-) which was promised to the Petitioner was not disbursed to him. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the Petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner within a further period of eight (08) weeks.
