The writ petition was filed, way back in the year 2021, seeking import permit for restricted item i.e., Caliber 223 REM RIFLE with Spare with Telescope, accessories and parts (quantity 1) along with 15,000 number of ammunitions. 2. The petitioner had, on 10.02.2021, written to the authorities seeking permit to import arms and ammunition. Since the same was not decided for a long period of time, the petitioner was constrained to file the present writ petition. 3. The Petitioner relies on Notification dated 12.02.2020 to contend that the permission to import could not have been rejected. Per contra, the respondents, rely upon O.M. dated 29.06.2021, to contend that the permission should not be granted. 4. Be that as it may, this Court has been informed that the application seeking permit to import has still not been decided and is pending consideration.
