1. The present petition seeks quashing of FIR No. 150/2023, under Section 323/341/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC), registered on 16th April 2023 at P.S.: K.N. Katju Marg, filed by Smt. Urmila, respondent no.2 herein, who is the mother-in-law of the petitioner no.1. 2. The marriage of the petitioner and the son of respondent no.2 was solemnised on 15th April, 2025 as per Hindu rites and ceremonies. Matrimonial disputes arose between the parties, which resulted in filing of the present FIR. 3. W.P.(CRL) 2268/2025 has been filed by the petitioner’s husband for quashing of a cross FIR No.674/2023 filed by the petitioner herein, which This is a digitally signed order. W.P.(CRL) 2308/2025 has been disposed of today, thereby quashing the said FIR on the basis of a settlement arrived at between the parties. The said settlement covers the present FIR also. 4. The respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by her counsel as well as by the Investigating Officer (IO). She informs the Court that she has settled the matter of her own free will and without any coercion. She further states that she has no objection to quashing of the FIR. 5. The petitioners are present in Court and have been identified by their counsel. They affirm the statement of the respondent no.2 and undertake to abide by the terms of settlement arrived at between the parties. 6. Considering the above settlement between the parties, there is no use continuing with the proceedings of the present FIR as it would be an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer.
Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the aforementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. 7. Consequently, the FIR No. 150/2023, registered at Police Station K.N. Katju Marg, Delhi and the proceedings pursuant thereto are quashed. 8. The petition stands disposed of. 9. Pending application stands disposed of.
