The petitioner is assailing the posting order (Annexure P-3), in terms whereof, post conferment of the promotion against the post of Principal, the incumbents named therein stand posted at the stations mentioned against their names. In terms of Annexure P-3, the petitioner has been posted on promotion at GSSS Salgran, District Lahaul and Spiti. 3. This Court is of the considered view that in light of the fact that the promotion also entails posting and same is different from transfer, it is upon the petitioner whether to accept the promotion and join the station where he stands posted or to forgo promotion. In case, the petitioner intends to accept the promotion, he will forthwith join at GSSS Salgran, District Lahaul and Spiti and thereafter he may represent to the Authority for his adjustment at some other station, which representation may be considered and decided by the Authority on its own merits. 4.
