23.03.2026 Ct. No. 7 Sl. No. 40 RANJAN WPA 5709 of 2026 RAFIKUL ALAM VS. THE WEST BENGAL STATE ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY LIMITED AND ORS. Mr. Manas Kumar Das Mr. Aritra Kumar Thokdar Mr. Prabal Das ….for the Petitioner Mr. Sujit Sankar Koley ….for the WBSEDCL This is a third round of litigation between the parties. By an order dated 09.04.2024 passed in WPA 2770 of 2024 (Rafikul Alam Vs. The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and Others), the petitioner was directed to pay the disputed amount in two installments. It is submitted on behalf of the WBSEDCL that notwithstanding a period of more than two years, the petitioner has not taken any steps for payment of the amount in terms of the earlier order of Court. On behalf of the petitioner, it is submitted that they are ready and willing to make payments in terms of the order dated 09.04.2024. It is apparent from the records of this proceeding that the petitioner has been ill-advised in filing repeated writ petitions without complying with the orders of Court. 2 There is simply no scope of re-visiting the prior orders of Court in such a circuitous manner. In view of the above, WPA 5709 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to make payment in terms of the order dated 09.04.2024. In case of such payments being made, the respondent authorities are directed to act in accordance with law. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.)
