Learned advocate for the petitioners has produced documents in support of the submission that they were called for counselling. The petitioners despite getting opportunity at the counselling stage did not appear at the time of counselling. The panel in question has since expired. 2. The petitioners pray for a further opportunity to direct the Commission to permit them to appear in the counselling process. 3. Prayer of the petitioner is strongly opposed by the learned advocate representing the Commission. It has been submitted that the benefit of counselling ought not to be extended to the petitioners as the time for counselling expired long back. The panel no longer survives. Page 2 There is already a list of candidates waiting to be appointed against the matching vacancies. 4. Upon hearing both the parties and in view of the fact that the petitioners are job losers and are frantically looking for a job, accordingly, the Court is minded to grant relief to the petitioners to the extent mentioned herein below. 5. It has been brought to the notice of the Court that counselling for 1242 candidates has to be conducted by the Commission in terms of the order passed by the Hon’ble Division Bench on 25th November, 2025 in MAT 1512 of 2025 with CAN 1 of 2025 (The West Bengal Central School Service Commission & Anr. Vs. Arpita Pramanik & Ors.). 6. Accordingly, it is directed that if after completion of counselling of all the 1242 candidates any vacancy subsists, then the petitioners may be permitted to participate in the counselling process subject to availability of matching vacancies. 7. The writ petition stands disposed of. 8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
