This is an application for condonation of delay of 230 days in preferring an appeal against the judgment dated 26th September, 2025, passed by the learned Single Judge of this Court [“the Writ Court”] in HCP No. 03/2025 titled “Washif Fayaz Vaid vs. Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Others”. 2. Before we advert to the explanation tendered for filing the delayed appeal, we deem it appropriate to take on record that in the instant case the respondent was put under detention by the order of District Magistrate, Anantnag passed on 20th May, 2024 and executed on 24th May, 2024. The order of detention was passed with a view to prevent the respondents from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of the State for which the maximum period of detention is of two years. The period of two years has expired and therefore the order of detention which was challenged in HCP No. 03/2025 has outlive its life. 3. In that view of the matter, the appeal is said to have become infructuous. Accordingly, the same along with the application for condonation of delay is dismissed. 4.
