Gogoi, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Mr. K. K. Parasar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam. 2. This is an application filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, whereby the petitioners (1). Sri. Palan @ Plantius Lakra, (2). Vincent @ Bhimsen Lakra, (3). Ruben Lakra and (4). Lajruse Bek have prayed for releasing them on bail after they were arrested in connection with Gohpur Police Station Case No.01/2026 under Sections 303(2) and 325 of the BNS, 2023, read with Section 13(1) of the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021. 3. On 01.01.2026, Police got information that a cow was being slaughtered at Rahdhala Dani Gaon. Police found the remains of the slaughtered cow. It is alleged that the cow was slaughtered for selling the meat. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners belong to the Tea Garden Workers Community and they slaughtered the cow for a feast. 5. I have also considered the submissions made by learned counsel for the both sides. 6. The petitioners have already spent 28 days in judicial custody. 7. This Court is of the opinion that the petitioners no longer deserve to be detained in custody for the allegation brought against them. Therefore, the bail application of the petitioners is allowed. Page No.# 3/3 8. Therefore, the petitioners (1). Sri. Palan @ Plantius Lakra, (2). Vincent @ Bhimsen Lakra, (3). Ruben Lakra and (4). Lajruse Bek shall be released on bail of Rs.20,000/- each with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Sub- Divisional Judicial Magistrate (M), Gohpur. 9.
