Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner was employed with the principal accused, namely Sk. Md. Zamir Abbas. It has also been submitted, petitioner is in custody for 145 days and charge sheet has already been submitted before the jurisdictional Court.
Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail, draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim. Primarily, the materials in the case diary reflects that petitioner was acting as an agent for collecting the gold/cash on behalf of the principal accused as also converting the same on behalf of the principal accused.

As such, petitioner is not similarly situated as the other accused, namely, Sk. Md. Zamir Abbas
Having considered the locus of the present petitioner in respect to the alleged offence, I am of the opinion further detention of the petitioner is unwarranted.
As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. Accordingly, Petitioner, namely, Sk. Sahid Afridi @ Raj shall furnish bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) with two sureties of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) each. One of whom must be local to the satisfaction of Learned ACJM, Chandannagar, Hooghly. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date fixed before the learned Trial Court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of District of Hooghly without the prior permission of the Learned Trial Court.
Accordingly, CRM (M) 606 of 2026 is allowed.
