JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court calling in question registration of a crime in Crime No.11/2025, pending before the 23rd Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge and Special Court for Lokayuktha cases, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 7(a), 7(b) and 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 2. Heard Sri Aruna Shyam, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner, Sri D. R. Ravishankar, learned senior counsel along with Smt. Keerthi Reddy, learned counsel appearing for the complainant and Sri B. Lethif, learned counsel appearing for the Lokayuktha. 3. The issue revolves around demand and acceptance of bribe, which is shrouded with seriously disputed questions of fact. In the teeth of these factors, investigation in the least is a must. 4. There is an interim order operating in the case at hand. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26559 WP No. 4050 of 2025 5. Sri Aruna Shyam, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the interim order be continued for a period of two weeks, so that the petitioner would take steps to secure bail at the hands of the concerned Court and also seek liberty to approach this Court in the event, a final report is filed and the final report would go against the petitioner. 6. Reserving such liberty to the petitioner to re-approach this Court at a later point in time, the writ petition stands disposed, with interim order continuing for a period of two weeks, only to enable the petitioner to secure bail at the hands of the concerned Court. 7. Merely because the interim order is extended by two weeks, it does not mean that the concerned Court would be swayed by the extension of interim order, while considering the application seeking bail. It shall be considered only on its merit. 8. In the event, the petitioner approaches the concerned Court within two weeks as observed hereinabove, the concerned Court shall answer the application in the light of the - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26559 WP No. 4050 of 2025 directions of the Apex Court issued to the concerned Courts while considering the bail applications. 9.
