A show cause affidavit has been filed by Dr. Rajeev Ranjan Sharma, the Registrar, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka on 03.07.2026. The relevant paragraphs of the show cause affidavit are quoted as under: “4. That in compliance of the order dated 02.05.2024 passed by this Hon’ble Court in W.P.(S) No. 2427 of 2020, the University provisionally fixed the pay of the petitioner in 5th and 6th pay scale and forwarded the same to the Director, Higher Education for approval as is evident from letter no. SKMU/Proc/05/26, dated 21.01.2026. 5. That pursuant to the approval of pay-fixation by the State Govt., the University has calculated the arrears and has made the payment of arrears of pension, gratuity and Leave Encashment. Petitioner is already getting pension @ Rs.11,490 per month w.e.f January, 2016 under 7th pay revision. That the said payments made is evident from the details of payment of retiral benefits to the petitioner, issued by the Finance Officer, S.K.M University, Dumka. 2026:JHHC:19466 2 Photocopy of the details of payment of retiral benefits to the petitioner is annexed and marked as Annexure-A to this Show Cause. 3. Mr. Mithilesh Singh, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the opposite party no. 1, on instructions, submits that the amount shown in Annexure-A to the show cause affidavit dated 03.07.2026 has been transferred to the bank account of the petitioner. 4. Considering the content of the show cause affidavit dated 03.07.2026 and the submission made by Mr. Mithilesh Singh, there is no need to further proceed in the contempt petition. The contempt proceeding as against the opposite parties is hereby dropped. 5. The contempt petition is accordingly disposed of. 6. The petitioner is, however, at liberty to take appropriate recourse as permissible under law for redressal of his subsisting grievance, if any. (Rajesh Shankar, J.)
